JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Design, maintain, monitor, and support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave comprised of various hardware, software and network components to include server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs
- Develop and carry out strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture and technology with minimal impact
- Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to standard solutions
- Administer network including installing, configuring and maintaining network devices; configuring various routing protocols; troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, throughput, and latency; setting up firewalls
- Responsible for secure infrastructure and vulnerability corrections, data security, compliance, and backups and recovery
- Maintain SSPs, STE/STN requirements, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM
- Responsible for user-level support, including interacting with system-savvy developers and analysts, resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues & anomalies
- Maintain enclave documentation (network diagram, system names, IP addresses, barcodes, etc.)
- Provide monthly activity report to include system outages
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Familiar with Docker, MongoDB, and Elastic Search; Ansible and GitLab; RedHat Satellite
- Working knowledge of software-defined networks
- Experience deploying and maintaining nginx; system monitoring platforms like OpenVAS, Prometheus and Grafana; SELinu x and FIPS
- Knowledge of LatteArt/Biscotti, Netseer, SEAR logging
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree plus 11 years of relevant experience
- Or a master's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience
- Or a doctoral degree plus 7 years of relevant experience
- An associate's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position
